Adoption applications are submitted to the adoption committee of Halifax Cat Rescue Society for approval. After approval of your application, a meeting will be set up between you, the foster home and an HCRS representative according to everyone's convenience.

Although this application may seem lengthy, we ask that you take time to answer all the questions as best as possible. Thank you for considering adoption, we'll be in touch within a few days. Sometimes, we take a bit longer and this is because we are such a small group of volunteers. Please take this into consideration before you fill out the application. The process is not as fast as with the SPCA or other shelters who have an actual shelter and many more workers.

 

IT IS HCRS POLICY THAT OUR KITTENS BE ADOPTED EITHER AS PAIRS OR TO A FAMILY WITH A CAT(S) ALREADY IN THE HOME. THIS IS TO ENSURE FURTHER SOCIALIZATION OF  NEWLY RESCUED KITTENS. THIS POLICY IS ENFORCED WITH ALL OF OUR KITTEN ADOPTIONS.
