Wilson

Wilson stumbled into one of our traps - and salvation - when we were looking to trap another. Lucky boy, as he didn't need to endure the harsh winter weather that enveloped the region over the past month or more. He initially presented as feral, as he hissed with gusto at his rescuer from inside the confines of the trap. And yet the fact that he interacted at all with a human was promising, as many feral cats freeze in terror when caught. Wilson was whisked into the vet right away and because of the uncertainty regarding his socialization, his ear was cropped thinking we would need to return him back outdoors. Happily, since that time, we have learned otherwise. Wilson turns out to be a loving, super-affectionate boy, a cat that barely leaves the side of his foster dad. And he's also very gentle with his young son too. Talk about a turnaround!
Wilson is a big fella, presenting with those big fat boy cheeks that we associate with an older, intact male out there fighting for territory. His cheeks were indeed the most resplendent we had seen in some time. In fact, the vet guestimates him to be between 3-5 years of age. With all this fighting, he is thankfully in good health, testing negative for feline diseases that include feline leukemia and FIV. He was also neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites - fleas and worms - as a matter of course.
We ask for a minimum $140 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
