Introducing Shuri! This wee black cat has served her time as a devoted mama to five kittens and she is now free to live out her days as a pampered and adored pet. She is still quite a young thing, so this means lots of quality years, we would hope. She deserves it!
Shuri was noticed hanging around a rural area of Halifax, barely able to maneuver because of her massive belly at the time. It was clear the kittens would be coming soon, so we scrambled to get her inside. Sure enough, not too long later, the kittens arrived and she was the best mama cat one could imagine, even accepting an orphaned kitten into her family soon thereafter. She was so tiny, the kittens dwarfed her frame when they were all tucked in, noshing away, but she seemed to glory in it. We were enchanted by the tableaux.
Shuri has been spayed, microchipped, tested for disease, vaccinated and treated for parasites. She is actually quite a timid little thing and would do best in a quiet home with an adult or two to lavish her with love. She is a little nervous around other cats and dogs, so we recommend that she be an only pet or alternatively, be part of a two-cat home with a mellow and non-aggressive cat around for company.
We ask for a minimum $175 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
