Percee & Pinot

Pinot (black) and Percee (grey) are two adorable best buds. They were rescued from what had been large cat colony on the Eastern Shore over a year ago. Indeed, there had been upwards of 20 cats at one time in that colony, but predators had moved into the area and the numbers had dropped dramatically by the time we learned of this situation. For this reason, we knew going in that we would just be subjecting the cats to a terrible fate had we returned them (trap-neuter-return strategy) because they were not friendly enough to be adopted out once they were vetted. And sure enough, while Pinot was somewhat sociable, allowing herself to be petted when cautiously approached, Percee was very nervous of any human contact. But we knew that we either had to consider euthanizing them outright or find them a foster home where the people would be willing to work with them to make them comfortable living indoors and around people. Thankfully we found just the place! And we are so very grateful that the fosters have been so patient and generous of their time in working with these deserving kitties.
Pinot is the older kitty, guestimated to be about 5 years old and according to the colony caregiver, she had produced several litters of kittens by the time we picked her up. Percee is now approximately 2 years old, based on the guestimate of just under a year old when we first got her. They are both in very good health and living large in the spacious flat where they have been living with the three foster moms for over a year. According to the girls, they enjoy running around the house, playing with each other, and cuddling. They are still more comfortable with each other then humans, but have come a long way and will come up and sniff your toes or fingers. They love treats, jingle balls, and following a long string. They are wary of other animals but have spent time with dogs without any problem. These two girls are best friends and do everything together. They'd be the perfect addition to any home looking for some feline companionship.
Pinot and Percee have tested negative for disease (feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus), treated for parasites, vaccinated and spayed as part of our vet care program.
Please consider giving these sweet kitties a home where they will be safe from harm fur-evermore!
We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
