Patty
Patty was rescued together with her littermates from under a shed out in Whites Lake. The homeowner noticed them one day, out and about, and wondered why he didn't see a mama cat, especially since they were still so tiny. Thankfully he chose to put out some food for them and they chowed right down. Still wondering at whether there was a mama cat in the picture, the man continued to put out food, but only once a day. By the time we learned of the situation and went in for the rescue, the poor little tykes were very thin, living on only one meal a day. Hungry kittens are easily trapped, so this was something we could easily remedy. We did continue to leave out food daily for a week afterward in hopes the mama cat was around but not easily seen, but the food remained uneaten. All things considered, these four kittens were very lucky to have been noticed by the homeowner at all, as they were obviously orphaned.
Patty's foster dad has this to say about Patty:
"Although Patty is still a little shy she has interacted with our house cats like a natural. She always manages to get our two older cats to play fight with her all the time, chasing each other around the house whenever possible. She seems to have fallen for our other foster kitten, Brion, and has a real close bond with her. If and when they are sleeping they are probably together. I feel Patty looks up to her as a big sister. Although I mention that she is still a little shy, when the chance comes, normally when she is lying down, and you manage to get a few gentle rubs in, she let's out a few little chirps of relief which is heart melting. This leads to a chorus of purring until you stop."
Patty has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, tested (negative) for disease and treated for parasites. Given her timid nature, we are hoping to find her a home with at least one other young'ish cat for company. She is being fostered together with Brion, another one of our older kittens looking for a home, so their pairing would be ideal.
We ask for a minimum $175 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
