Maurice
Maurice was rescued outside an apartment building after he was left outdoors to fend for himself when his owner was forced to leave an abusive relationship quite suddenly. Thankfully the landlord learned of this situation and took Maurice in to his apartment himself only to learn that he had a severe allergy to cats. One of volunteers who lives in the building offered to help, so into our foster care network he came.
Maurice was already neutered, but we had him tested for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses and treated him for parasites to make him ship shape for eventual adoption. This gorgeous boy is estimated to be between 6-8 years of age and a real doll. His foster dad has only good things to say about him:
"Maurice is sure to always say "hello" when we return home. He enjoys hanging out on top of the couch or any comfy cushion. He regularly cuddles up beside us on the couch. He would let you pat him all day and will remind you when you have not in a while. He is happy to be scratched all over his body and is not phased by tail/belly touches. Maurice will meow by his dish when he is hungry or thirsty, although we only put small amounts at a time as he is still working on his "pacing" during meals. He keeps himself well maintained and clean looking. He plays with a few toys independently but will sometimes take part in "group play."
We do not know how well Maurice will do with other pets, including cats and dogs, but we feel he is a mellow fellow and likely to do well in a family home.
We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
