Manilla & Lima

Click a photo to enlarge gallery.

Manilla and Lima were found as newborns together with their three littermates in the shelter that a kind homeowner had put together for the mama cat.  Lucky for us, as it can be difficult if not impossible to find them if mama had taken a notion to have them in some unknown location. In those instances, it can take several weeks before the kittens appear and then it can be a long process to get them trapped and then properly socialized enough to be adopted.  Thankfully, this didn't happen and it was merely a case of waiting for the kittens to be old enough to be weaned.

Manilla and Lima both present as somewhat timid in the early going but quickly warm up to you and become the lovable little fools that we all expect of kittens. It can be a challenge to take their photos, as they are rarely still long enough to catch a good one.  And the fact that they are both black also means that a regular camera does not do justice to their sleek, glossy black fur.  Each of them has a tiny little white patch on their chest, which makes telling them apart initially, but then their unique personalities shine through and it becomes a much easier task. Each of their littermates were adopted before they even made it to our website, but we are really hoping to adopt these girlies out together as a bonded pair.  They are rarely apart.

UPDATE:  The girls are way more affectionate now than they were in the early days.  And Lima plays the mother role over Manilla (smaller with white chest patch), which is so endearing.

Manilla and Lima have been fully vetted, meaning they have been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for disease and treated for parasites, all as a matter of course for our rescue program.

We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
