Lex & Rock

Lex and Rock were part of a litter of 5 kittens, rescued at 4 months old. We were worried that at that age they didn't not have enough socialization, but they flourished immediately in their foster homes. One kitten was adopted immediately, leaving Rock and Lex in one foster home, and Ali and Mad Dog in another for further socialization.

These kittens were named after wrestlers or fighters, in case you're wondering!  They are now approximately 7 months old (Jan '15) and doing great in their  foster home. Lex and Rock can be easily distinguished by their markings.  Rock has the least amount of white and he's a tad smaller than his brother Lex.  Rock was the kitten who was the hardest to catch hold of,  scampering away upon approach, but he was also the first to purr when petted, and loudly.  Lex was the kitten who was the first to become comfortable around people and the reason why he was paired with Rock.

Lex and Rock's foster mum tells us about these babies:
"They're growing fast and still making a lot of progress in terms of interacting with humans - I think both of them have decided that humans aren't so bad over all! Over the last couple of weeks they have become more comfortable when they meet someone new, especially if that person is willing to play with them! They are very playful and energetic cats and love nothing better than chasing a mouse on a string, hiding and pouncing on one another, or playing with each other's tail. I don't think either of them will ever love being picked up, but they still love being petted and spending time with us. Lately they have taken to napping in the kitchen while I cook and they will curl up on the foot of my bed at night while I sleep. They also love to sit at the window and watch people go by. They still have very distinct personalities - Nicky is very assertive, energetic, and affectionate and he will steal all of your attention if he can get away with it! Willy is more reserved and doesn't actively seek out attention as much as Nicky does, but he is a little sweetie and he sure appreciates attention (when Nicky lets him get some!), especially belly rubs. They're still attached at the hip and I really hope they'll find a forever home where they can stay together."

The kittens have been tested for feline disease, treated for parasites and neutered.

We ask for a minimum $140 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
