Leonard

Leonard was found wobbling around outdoors by some kind people who turned him in to our vet clinic for care.  It turns out that this lovely boy had a fractured pelvis, likely from being hit by a car.  We don't know how long Leonard had been wandering around out there in severe pain, but we very quickly got him on pain meds and seen by an orthopedic specialist for advice on the best way to proceed.  As it happens, his fracture was the kind that merely needed Leonard to be kept on "kennel rest" for 4-6 weeks for it to heal while he remained on pain meds.  Good for us in terms of expense, but not so good for Leonard who had to be kept in a kind of jail for such a long time, especially since he is such a sweet, gentle and affable sort of cat that loves to be out and about around his humans. Leonard has now been sprung from his prison for a few months now while we sort out whether there are any ongoing issues with his injury, and he is one happy guy!

As his history demonstrates and his photos show, Leonard is a very sweet-tempered and patient soul. He is not really a lap cat per se, but he loves to have company around.  He is also quite chatty, which is very endearing to his foster mom, who supposes that he must have a lot to say about his day when she gets home. Because he's so mellow, we feel that he would do well in many kinds of environments, so long as someone is around to have a conversation with from time to time.  We haven't had him around dogs and other cats, other than the cats that lived external to his kennel for a period of time.  He seemed to be fine with them at that time.

Leonard is neutered, tested for disease, treated for parasites, and his mobility shows that he has healed well from his injury.

We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
