Lady Fortuna was profiled on our Facebook page earlier this summer and the post was widely shared and received considerable attention because HCRS had taken her in after her owner had brought her to our vet clinic to be euthanized because she and her husband were moving. We did have some initial interest in Lady Fortuna by what looked to be a good prospect, but then - yet again - the woman had to back away because her landlord was no longer allowing pets in her rental unit. We shall persist, however, in finding this lovely cat a home where she won't ever be threatened with "eviction" or even death anytime in her years remaining. Her fortunes need to change for good.
Lady Fortuna is 9 years old, declawed, spayed and in great health. She is sure well-loved in her foster home. Her foster dad has this to say: "Lady Fortuna is kind and affectionate, the best cat I've had, hands down. Quite the jumper. She's never in a bad mood. Healthy too. If if was possible for me to adopt I would want her for the rest of her (or my) life."
We don't know how well she gets along with other cats or animals, but because she is declawed, it is probably fair that she will be adopted as an only cat. We're sure her eventual owner will be richly rewarded with an affectionate, outgoing and mellow companion.
We ask for a minimum $175 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
