Joni & Nash - bonded pair

Joni & Nash

These darling like moustachioed kittens, Joni and Nash, were rescued from a seaside community on the Eastern Shore.  Their clever mama stashed them in a "cat house" on the property that was set up to provide shelter to the roaming strays in the area, and the caregivers noticed that she was hanging around the little structure a little too closely to be considered normal behavior.  A "call to arms" followed, and we were lucky enough to arrive with mama cat and her kittens (it turned out) inside the shelter.  We simply had to close off the opening with our trap, and bing-bang-boom we had mama cat.  Because the kittens were then only about two weeks old at most, it was a simple matter of plucking the dear little things from the straw and cuddling them in our arms.  Oh if trapping were only this easy as a rule!

Because Joni (female, with a bit more white on her face) and Nash (male) were so young upon capture, there was no issue in getting them accustomed to humans and indoor living.  It also helped that their mama, known as Bunny, turned out to be a gentle little soul that has become quite friendly with her foster mom.  Nash is that brash, bold sort of boy that greets you at the door and rampages around between your legs until you give him some attention.  When he winds down, he loves nothing better than to cuddle up with you, all lovey dovey.  Joni is more reticent as befitting a proper lady, but once she gets to know you, she is also super friendly and sweet, happy to enjoy a cuddle on your lap (on her terms, of course).  Both kittens are wildly playful and happy go lucky, which is so very gratifying given what could have been the alternative.

Joni and Nash are now approximately 3 months old (early July) and fully vetted.  This means they have been spayed and neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, and tested (negative) for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses. "Ready to roll" as we like to say.  We are looking for a forever home that is interested in adopting Joni and Nash out as a bonded pair.  We ask for a $200 donation for each kitten, or $400 in total, for which we would issue a charitable tax receipt.

Thanks for your interest!

We ask for a minimum $200 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
