Iris

Iris was rescued at a recycling depot in Halifax. She was known to come in and out of a sheltered hole in the wall and sleep in the heated lunchroom at nighttime, only to scatter when workers arrived for their shifts in the morning. Iris wouldn't allow people to approach her without meows and hisses - a stress response we know well.
Once trapped, Iris was still hesitant to trust, but once ensconced in her quiet foster home, she blossomed very quickly into a friendly, cuddle bug who is very active, loves to play and is a relaxed and pleasant girl. When a volunteer brought food and litter to the foster home, Iris quickly hissed at her, but then relaxed. Upon meeting, Iris may hiss but this is her way of protecting herself, and she'll come around quickly once settled.
Iris is a true beauty. Sleek, lean with a beautiful shiny tabby coat. She is a stunner! The vet puts her around 1 year old. We aren't sure how she would be with other cats, but with the proper integration technique we have no reason to believe she'd be fine.
Iris has been spayed, treated for parasites and tested negative for feline disease. If you'd like to meet her, please fill out an application.
We ask for a minimum $140 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
