Dieter
Dieter is a big 'ol tomcat that had been an outdoor stray at the home of an elderly couple for several months. They fretted so much over his fate that the situation came to our notice and we found an opportunity to trap him and get him into a foster home in short order. Dieter has the "tomcat cheeks" of a mature male, so he is guestimated to be between 3-5 years of age. He was quite the docile fellow living outdoors but he had an initial period of stress when he was first brought in, where he wasn't happy at all and wanted to be left alone. Since that time, he has mellowed out again in his foster home, which is consists of two other male cats and an affable dog, and he has nicely settled into the rhythm of things. His foster mom says that Dieter isn't a lap cat, but he loves attention and also adores lounging on the bed, taking in the creature comforts of the home. Dieter is a quiet guy and would do well in a quiet home with no small children to break his peace.
UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: We were wrong about him not being a lap cat. He most certainly is. He climbs up on our laps and falls asleep. And each day he becomes more and more comfortable with the other cats in the home. He practically ignores the dog except to sleep on her bed (but of course!).
He enjoys his food and he loves the scratching box. He will actually lay on top of it so the other two cats can't use it, much to their chagrin. He often flips it upside while playing with it. He doesn't scratch the furniture at all.
He enjoys having his head patted and chin scratched and doesn't shed. He also has a very loud purr. Such a sweet cat. He is a big boy and has filled out since arriving at our home.
Dieter has received the full treatment at the vet, where he has been neutered, tested (negative) for disease, microchipped and treated for parasites.
We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
