Carrie & Laney - Bonded Pair

The rescue of this litter of kittens certainly tested our mettle.  Carrie was the first one caught when she got left behind during the "migration".  The little family was traipsing across a parking lot behind an apartment building and when the runt of the litter - Carrie - got to the curb, she couldn't get up 'n over.  A family in the apartment building was witnessing the procession, and seeing that Carrie was in difficulty, rushed out to salvage the wee scrap of fur.  Carrie was thought to be only 4 weeks old at the time. Then after a month of waiting and watching, we found where mama had the remaining kittens hidden, and we were able to trap Laney shortly thereafter.  But the last kitten, Parker, remained elusive. Mama was nervous and moving her around, but in the end we made the difficult decision to trap the mama before Parker, as she was plain and simply getting in the way. A white knuckled 12 hours later, knowing that Parker was all alone out there, we finally - FINALLY! - had the third kitten in a trap.

Carrie - the gray tux with the small 'stache - being caught at such a young age is the most social and outgoing kitten. Bold, brazen and baaad; a mighty mite! She will take on all the big boys in the house and still look for more to sass.

Laney - the other gray tux with a longer white mark on her nose - was the second one caught but the one to take the longest to come round. Wary and suspicious in the early going, she was run away as look at you. Only after a lot of patience was she able to learn to trust and hang around for the lovins being doled out. That and the treats, of course.

Each one of the kittens would run away when a stranger comes in the house, but they will come out and hang, once you give them a little time to adjust.

The kittens were guestimated to be born around June 15th, so this makes them 4 months old as of the writing of this bio. They have all been spayed, microchipped, tested (negative) for disease, and treated for parasites.  They absolutely love their Cat Milk - slave to it, really - and dive into their wet food at meal times.  The kittens all love interactive play with a wand and dangly things.  Because of their feral beginnings, the kittens would likely do best in a quiet home. And we always hope to adopt our kittens out in pairs or as singles to a home where they will have another young'ish cat to play with.

We ask for a minimum $200 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued. As Carrie and Laney are bonded, we request that they be adopted as a pair.
