Bruce & Cyril
HCRS was asked to take on the care of a boisterous gang of four kittens by a dog rescue group. They had come across them in a community where animals in general were not well cared for, let alone cats. They had the usual host of afflictions, including parasites and runny eyes/noses, but you wouldn't know it. They were full of the devil from the start, and they have done nothing but entertain in their foster homes since. Unlike many of our other rescued feral kittens, who are often timid and fearful, these guys are highly affectionate, outgoing and fearless. And amazingly bee-yootiful to boot! As the kittens grew into bigger beasts, we separated them out into two sets of two, including Bruce and Cyril together in one home, and Alyse and Jayson in another. You will see the other "set" in another bio on our website.
Bruce and Cyril are difficult to tell apart upon first seeing them, but you soon learn that Bruce is the bigger of the two and one of his toes on his front left foot is orange, which allows you to distinguish them quite easily. In personality, Bruce is the more dominant and also the not easily compelled to do something without a lot of pushback. He lets you know when he's not happy with how he's being treated. Cyril, on the other hand, is a more mild and mellow version of his bigger brother, and happy to just go along for the ride, whether getting into mischief or cuddling up for some quiet time. Mind you, when Bruce dove into the shower with his foster mom, Cyril screeched to a halt to stand by at the sidelines to watch. Needless to say, Bruce didn't stick around in the running water for long anyway.
Each of the kittens has been fully vetted, which includes being spayed and neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for parasites. As is the case with any of our rescued kittens, we expect them to be adopted either in pairs or to a home with another cat who would be a suitable companion for a rambunctious kitten still learning his boundaries.
We ask for a minimum $160 donation for each of our rescued cats. A charitable tax receipt will be issued.
