Bellamy qualifies for a forever foster home because he has diabetes. His current foster home has done a spectaular job of getting his condition stable. They will be doing some travelling soon, so we are looking to get Bellamy situated into a permanent forever foster home now.
Bellamy's current foster parents have done a write up about him below:
"Bellamy is a sweetheart who thrives on love and attention. He loves to cuddle on the bed, and he will start purring the moment you pat him. He also LOVES to play, especially with the laser mouse and catnip toys. Bellamy tolerates other cats, but he would do best in a quiet household with no children. He still tends to be a bit timid around new people and loud noises, but once he knows you, he will climb up on the couch next to you and keep you company. His diabetes is very manageable, and he's a pro at getting his needles every day!"
Ideally, Bellamy would be placed in a forever foster home that can give him lots of attention and not leave him for too many hours each day, simply because it will be better for him to have a home that is in-tune to his health and diabetes management. Experience with diabetic cats would be wonderful, but we can also teach anyone who is keen and attentive to learn how to keep him healthy.
Forever fosters fill out an application to adopt Bellamy, but the adoption is different. HCRS will pay for Bellamy's diabetic supplies and vet bills while the forever foster agrees to be a permanent, forever placement for Bellamy.
Bellamy is an otherwise healthy fellow, and has been neutered, treated for parasites and tested negative for feline diseases.
